What a crazy, exciting, anxiety filled, routine adjusting, awesome and exhausting month! This August was a month of many memories - WONDERFUL family vacation at Blue Mountain Beach, celebrating Luka's 6th birthday, going back to work for Momma, a week of professional development and setting up my classroom, day care or two for kiddos, first day of pre-k and kindergarten, sickies, crazy schedules, early mornings and early bedtime routines!
We are adjusting to our new normal as a family and it will probably be a while before it feels normal. I am beyond excited to have Luka at my school. We have had such a great week sharing many firsts together. My favorite by far is seeing his face in the hallways or at recess. Love being in the portable because I get to catch him every day while he is playing. He sees my class coming out and gets on the slide near the ramp to say hi with the biggest grin on his face. PRICELESS!!!
Getting up in the morning has been a little rough for him ( remember Luka and Momma are not early risers- lol) but by the time we are in the car he is all smiles and we have so much fun having one on one time and conversations in my classroom. I get to have him with me during bus duty after school and just seeing his face after a long day melts my heart! He has been a great helper in my room - cleaning and putting things away.
His teacher is AMAZING! Seriously, we are feeling beyond blessed! She is kind and compassionate and just overall a wonderful, wonderful person.
Mia is loving her pre-school as well. She loves Ms. Kathey and her friends, is trying new foods and is getting ready to start dance ( ballet and tap) for the first time through a great program they have at school. I cannot wait for her recital in April. She has two boys in her class that play tball with Luka. The staff at the school is very sweet and we have been super happy with them. The biggest issues with the girlfriend has been picking out her clothes for school. Oh serenity!!!
I love my third graders. I have such great classes! Three groups of GT and one on grade level. They are so excited to learn, and teaching science only has been super fun. The days go by super fast and before I know it end of the day rolls around.
I am just a little exhausted after this first full week as it is typical for all teachers and kinder parents.
So excited about our three day weekend!!! We are looking forward to pizza night and late night swimming tonight, sleeping in, a fun family weekend, date night for Mommy and Daddy and celebrating a very special five year old girl's birthday on Monday.

I have three of my favorite verses in my classrooms. This is one of them. Being a working Momma is not easy but the fact that my babies are happy and taken care of and love school has been such a blessing. I am so excited to have them both with me next year!
