First Family Vacation

On Friday, July 24th we packed my car with everything you can possibly imagine- 2 play yards, our double stroller, booster chair, food, snacks, diapers, wipes, 4 bags of clothes, box of toys, kid CDs, towels...well ,you get the picture. We headed to Wimberly (a small town between Austin and San Antonio) where Justin's side of the family spends a week each summer relaxing.

We stayed Friday-Monday and we had a BLAST! The 5 hour ride was not bad at all and the kids did very well. BY the time we got stuck in rush hour traffic in Austin we did do some bubbles in the car - which Daddy loved...but overall Luka and Mia were travel champs.

The kids had a great time being loved on and spoiled by family while Mommy and Daddy enjoyed being away from home for a few days. I took a lot of pictures but for some reason the quality is not good at all. I decided to post the better ones to document all the fun we had.

Sea World San Antonio - last time Justin and I went to Sea World was only 4 days before finding out we were pregnant with sweet Luka Bear. We went to SA for a romantic weekend to celebrate my birthday...less than 24 hours after getting home our lives changed forever!!! So this was actually not Luka's first trip to Sea World.....

Enjoying the lazy river with Aunt Apple
SHAMU - how cool is that???
Being cozy with Garret after a long day at Sea World - this kid did not take a nap all day...He had such a great time and it was neat for us to see how excited he was about everything - the wave pool, the pirate ship, the Shamu show, the lazy river....
This is the perfect picture of our sleeping arrangment for the three nights...even though we had a play yard for each of the babies to sleep in they decided it would be more fun to take over our bed. They both bascially slept on Daddy...needless to say poor Daddy did not get much good sleep.
You think these boys are pretty tough huh?
The truth is Aunt Apple (April) can make them both giggle like a bunch of girls...
Daddy and Uka
Mia was such a sweetie...the girl hung out in her play yard and just observed everything and everybody...
When you ask Luka what horses eat he will tell you three things:
1) grass
2) apples
3) feet
- he was so freaked out that this horse licked sissy's feet...Mia was cracking up of course while Luka screamed :)
"Daddy, the boat is for little people...."
Being brave enough to pick up rocks from the bottom of the river
Hanging out with his Papa
Enjoying the boat ride
No - we were not allowed to leave the lawnmower or the guitar at home...I am sure the owners of the resort will appreciate all of Luka's hard work
Sweet Dada getting some tan
This stick is actually Luka's pretend edger/trimmer (he also makes noises while he works)...gotta make the yard look nice
Weston AKA Westeeen
Garret AKA Gayete
Lance AKA Ance
Luka absolutely loved having his sweet cousins on this vacation. The boys were great with the kids and we were thankful to keep our little munckins occupied/happy/entertained at all times.
Mia and Lance
Lance collected bugs...Luka thought it was waaaay cool
This is what Luka considers being sweet for the picture..he leans over and makes a weird face- gotta love that kid!

Oh what a great vacation!!!

Awww....are they always so sweet with each other???

Apparently NOT when Nemo fruit snack is in question....

Yes - you could count Luka's teeth if you wanted....
This smile was hours later...right as it happened I am sure the entire WalMart in Rowlett heard her sweet voice...

All about our little man...

...rarely looks at the camera for pictures....
...his eyes change depending on what he wears...if he wears green they are greenish blue...if he wears brown they are brownish blue
....loves to watch airplanes....
....never misses one....even if we can barely hear it he usually knows way before we ever notice them
...is quite the little fishy....
...adores his sissy EVEN THOUGH he sometimes closes her in the pantry/slaps her/kicks her in the shins ...:)
...adores his Dada....
...loves when Dada makes him laugh....
....loves watching the rain with his partner in crime....

is absolutely OBSESSED with his lawnmower.....actually any lawnmower...kind of like with planes, he always hear when someone on our street is doing yardwork.....
....can be quite nosy just like his sister....
...loves to play CATCH with his FOOTBALLS
....could be outside ALL DAY EVERY DAY!

TEN THINGS we love about our 23 month old:
  1. the way he says "cozy" when it's time to go night night
  2. hearing him count - my favorite is SEVEN (seveeeeen)
  3. every single morning when he wakes up he tells me "Dada wok (Dada is at work)"
  4. his laugh and adore his smiles
  5. to watch him with Mia
  6. to listen to him talk in his own toddler language
  7. when he is proud of himself
  8. when he sings
  9. that the way he says "Oh My" and "Oops"
  10. the routine his Daddy thought him when he is brushing his teeth

....when she wants something she goes for it.....
...uses her baby blues to get us all wrapped around her little fingers....
...never too busy to enjoy simply things in life.....
....is always thinking about the next thing she is going to get into.....

We can't imagine our lives without this
