Well, we're NOT in Destin!

So this is the week we were supposed to be relaxing on the beach enjoying our family vacation. Due to a tropical storm/possible hurricane we decided to move our vacation for the end of September. Even though it is a big bummer we are not at the beach, we are still managing to have a lot of fun.

On Friday night Mommy and Daddy had a fun little date night while the kiddos stayed with Mimi and Papa. On Saturday morning, we headed to Miss Julianna's 2nd birthday party at the spray park we had never been to before. It was a lot of fun and we will be going back for sure. When we got home we relaxed for a while, watched The Lorax for the first time, got cleaned up for church and met both of our families there. My sis and her family joined us again. :) After church we went home to get in our comfy clothes, ordered a few pizzas and headed to my sister's house to eat dinner and watch a movie. The kiddos played and stayed up way too late but we all had a blast. On Sunday - the day we should have been on the beach was supposed to be our Hawaiian Falls day but since the weather had other plans the day turned into cleaning/yard work/grocery trip for the girls while the boys hung out at home/laundry/relaxing around the house kind of day. Hubs and I watched a movie when the kiddos fell asleep. Love those nights, especially when I get to pick a movie. ;) If it was up to Justin we would watch the same five movies over and over and over again. I LOVE YOU but you know it's true ;)

Right before date night.
Bathing suit twinkies - Claire and Mia

They LOVED these!!! Mommy and Daddy enjoyed a loud ride home ;) Thank you, Miss Anna!

Today we headed to Daddy's work. We had a lunch date and then went up to his office for a little bit. The kids loved it! Momma did, too! Once Daddy had to get back to work we took a few trips up and down in the elevator ( not on purpose) and then headed to the Praire Creek park in Richardson on our way home. We went on a little walk/hiking adventure until we were sweaty and had enough. Now the kiddos are snoozing which is not the usual and this Momma is enjoying some down time.

So we might not be in Destin like we planned but I couldn't be more thankful to be starting another school year staying at home with my sweet babies. I am so thankful for Justin and the sacrifices he makes to let me stay home and not to have to miss these precious years. I feel so blessed to know that at the end of the day we made the best decision for our family and the sacrifices are well worth it all. In two short years from now both of the kiddos will be in school and I will have no choice over who spends 7 hours a day with them. For now I am so glad I don't have to miss a beat!

Pump It Up

This morning we had so much fun at Pump It Up in Dallas. Dea and Ivan came with us and we only had to share the two huge bounce rooms with three other families. VERY COOL to for once not be in a crowded open bounce place! Even Mommy made it down the slide a few times. :)

"Koalaty" Time with Cousins

On Saturday Nik officially moved to Lubbock and is getting ready to start his first year of college at Texas Tech next week. We are so excited for him but can't hide the fact that it has been tough on all of us seeing him go. Sweet boy has been texting us a bunch so I am hopeful he will continue to keep in touch as we won't see him often. We knew he wanted to go away for school but I guess we all hoped it wouldn't be 6 hours away from home.

Since Dea and Ivan also go back to school next week ( starting 5th and 8th grade- time flies!) we decided we would have a super fun week together as we celebrate their last week of summer break. They came over last night to spend the night and play with some of the cool new birthday toys. This morning the girls put Mia's Easy Bake Oven to use and made some new yummy treats while the boys played with legos and other boy toys.

We decided to take advantage of the 85 degree weather and headed to the zoo. We had a great time even though it got up to 90 by the time we left! We stayed in the shade for the most part and with the breeze, it was actually totally fine.
