Fall~Fun~Family~Friends

I love this time of year because there is always so much to do. The weather is beautiful and we get to spend a lot of time with those we love. We have been having a lot fun with family and friends... On Friday morning we headed out to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch. We had a lot of fun hanging out with Mimi, Aunt Christy, Uncle Cary, Weston, Marg, Josh and Alyssa. The kids had a blast!

That night Mommy and Daddy got to get away for an adult evening with some of our friends form our Life Group. We had our first annual P,B &J party at the Watson's and had SUCH A GREAT TIME! Lots and lots of laughter!!! Thanks Tim and Stacey for organizing such a great get together! Here is Justin working on the design for our pumpkin. This was my first time to carve a pumpkin and as Justin claims "he only ever participated in carving" and was never in charge of it before...SO FUN!
Six couples, six pumpkins, one winner....You be the judge!;)
My sweet friends from GG- Cassi, Anna, Stacey, Jill & Kristen...we were missing Becky, Haley and Lindy!
The boys - Josh Ch. , Josh Co., Justin, Tim, Cam & Jared
Here is our very first carved pumpkin!!! We were pretty excited how it turned out!
The next morning Justin and I headed out to volunteer at my old school's Fall Carnival. Mimi and Papa were sweet enough to come spend some time and have fun with the kiddos for those four hours we were gone. We had fun at the carnival hanging out with my old team...I told Justin this was our second date night in 24 hours...
Some of my girls from last year came to visit.
The old gang- Karen, Jeff and I...Lisa was too busy falling down the stairs...thankfully she is okay but we sure missed her!
After the carnival we went home and relaxed for a little bit. We had our Life Group's Costume Party that evening and of course as much as we needed the kids to nap, they chose not to...This year's party was at the Burchfiel's beautful new house! Oh my goodness gracious- what a gorgeous home they have! We had a great time and all the kids definitley enjoyed their huge backyard and all of Nathan's toys. It was so cute to see all the kiddos in the costumes running around. Here is our Little Miss "I am not going to cooperate for pictures"!
My camera was messing up so I did not get many pictures but did manage to snap a few of these precious Superhero Friends- Brennan The Superman and Mia The Supergirl. As you can see they were way too busy with Nathan's toys to look up for a picture.
 Our family shot
After the party we picked up Dea for a sleep over and headed home to support the Rangers. Here we are showing off our pumpkin after they won Game 3...Yes- we are all decked out in our Ranger shirts!

Here is Mia and Luka's version of " the antlers"...are they not precious??? They of course have a few versions each...

Do you see that big smile on Daddy's face? How long has he been waiting for to share the joy and excitment of watching his favorite baseball team play...sharing the experience of Ranger's first World Series is just the icing on the cake!
Finally at 10:30 our little Ranger fans fell asleep... It has been a long weekend and we still have a day of trick-or-treating left ahead of us....

Precious Family Time

We headed to Ft. Worth last Saturday afternoon to spend some time with PawPaw and Judy ( Nanny Julie as our kids call her). We went out to eat and then came back to their house to play and visit some more. We had a wonderful time! So wonderful that we heard something along these lines coming out of Luka's mouth " I am not ready to go home...I stay here!".

Now who would want to leave when you got to eat at an awesome restaurant, get really cool toys, get to have ice cream at their house, get to build  custom homes out of dominoes and pretty much get every wish come true.... including the requested tour of every room to getting to touch and play with what they wanted. Mia must have had Judy and PawPaw read about 20 of the little Bible verse cards they get at their church every week. They had the cards sitting on the coffee table on a little ring and Mia had the best time picking out cards and taking them back and forth from Nanny to PawPaw. Thanks PawPaw and Judy for having us over! We love you! Such a wonderful day!

So sweet to eahc other while we were getting ready...

That same weekend Aunt Apple stopped by and we got some cute pictures of the kiddos having a good time staying up late.

Our Fabulous Friday

Our week ended with a wonderful fun Friday. We had plans to picj up lunch and eat with Alix at her school. This was such a huge highlight for the kids and we started getting ready at 8 to make sure everything and everyone was ready to be at Alix's school by 12:20. The kids were so excited!!!

Mia could not get there fast enough..here she is giving her Bubba an extra pull...
We forgot the backpack in the car and had to go back...
One of our children was totally overwhelmed by the chaos of an elementary school while the other could not get enough...hmmm wonder if you can guess who was a little terrified and who was beyond excited?
Here is sweet Miss Alix and the kiddos...she had no idea we were coming until her teacher pointed to us..
Little Miss Popular- every kid waved to her and they kept calling her over to ask her questions..I was serioulsy getting emotional watching her as such a big girl!I could have cried just seeing how big and grown up she is...
Once he saw Alix he was all smiles...
Sweet girls- are they not precious just hugging away!

One of the teachers asked the class to sit down in the hallway while they waited to go to recess and Miss Mia thought she had to do it to...hopefully this is a sign how wonderful she will do in school and with followeing directions ( yeah, right!)

Since the kids were so well behaved and still in great moods we decided to try out a new park close to our house. They loved it because it was new and different...

When we got home we read our favorite book and even though my plan was to put then down right after reading I just could not believe my ears...We have been reading One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish for about two weeks straight...all 40 something pages of the silly rhymes...Well, today as I was reading the kids were able to finish a lot of my sentences...I was speechless..they were doing it together and I was in shock...I am not talking about a few words here and there...I am talking about remembering the silly names, all the rhymes and then some random words that I totally would never think they would know...

Once we got up from our 2.5 hour nap- we headed to the Fall Festival at our church with Emma and Sara. Talk about a super duper fun family evening! The kids had SO much fun! We enjoyed getting to hang out with James, Sara and Emma first part of the night...seeing our church friends, neighbors and other special people in our lives...and then getting to end the evening with Lisa, Sydney, Karen and Mer. We made it home 4 long hours later. My plan was to stay until 7:30ish and we ended up leaving right as it was getting ready to shut down...When you see these smiling faces you will know just how much fun these Superheros of ours had!
